2006 Coaches Cross Country Poll

From: David Malady, Weddington High School August 15, 2006 To All XC Coaches: We are looking for coaches interested in participating in this year's Cross-Country Coaches Poll. The 2004 and 2005 Polls were very successful and garnered a great deal of interest and hopefully we can continue to build on that in 2006. Polls will be created for these categories: 4A Boys/4A Girls 3A Boys/3A Girls 2A Boys/2A Girls 1A Boys/1A Girls Ind.Priv.Schools Boys/ Ind.Priv.Schools Girls The voting specifics are very simple: 1. Create a top 10 for both boys and girls for your category (ex. if you are a 3A school, create a top 10 for 3A schools for both boys and girls) 2. Rank up to 5 for all other classifications (ex. if you are a 3A school, rank 1 to 5 schools for all other categories for both boys and girls) 3. Submit your lists to my e-mail address: dsmalady@excite.com by 9 pm on the Sunday before the polls are due to come out (see list below) 4. These votes should be based on informed opinions 5. Please type your lists in the body of your email or attach a Word document to your email. Dates for polls: 1st Official Poll comes out on 8/29, Submit votes by 9 pm on 8/27 Poll comes out on 9/19, Submit votes by 9 pm on 9/17 Poll comes out on 9/26, Submit votes by 9 pm on 9/24 Poll comes out on 10/10, Submit votes by 9 pm on 10/8 Poll comes out on 10/24, Submit votes by 9 pm on 10/22 Final poll comes out on 11/7, Submit votes by 9 pm on 11/5 I will compile all votes using a point system. 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 points will be applied to teams ranked 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10, ie. 1st place receives 10 points and so forth. The team with the most points will be ranked #1. 1st places votes will be used to break a tie for 1st place. Ties for other positions will not be broken. If your vote comes after 9:00 pm on the due-dates listed above it will not be used for that weeks poll. Please help me with this! I want everyone's vote to count. Please do not send in votes late! I will e-mail the polls to NCPrepTrack. I will e-mail the polls to newspapers in Asheville, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Raleigh, and Wilmington.
