2005 North Carolina High School Cross Country Coaches Poll Wednesday - August 10, 2005 Letter to coaches from Coach David Malady, Weddington High School: Coaches: We are looking for coaches interested in participating in this years Cross-Country Coaches Poll. The 2004 Poll was a success and garnered a great deal of interest and hopefully we can build on that in 2005. Polls will be created for these categories: 4A Boys/4A Girls 3A Boys/3A Girls 2A Boys/2A Girls 1A Boys/1A Girls Ind.Priv.Schools Boys/ Ind.Priv.Schools Girls The voting specifics are very simple: 1. Create a top 10 for both boys and girls for your category (ex. if you are a 3A school, create a top 10 for 3A schools for both boys and girls) 2. Rank up to 5 for all other classifications (ex. if you are a 3A school, rank 1 to 5 schools for all other categories for both boys and girls) 3. Submit your lists to my e-mail address: dsmalady@excite.com by 9 pm on the Sunday before the polls are due to come out (see list below) 4. These votes should be based on informed opinions Dates for polls: 1st Poll comes out on 8/30, Submit votes by 9 pm on 8/28 Poll comes out on 9/13, Submit votes by 9 pm on 9/10 Poll comes out on 9/27, Submit votes by 9 pm on 9/25 Poll comes out on 10/11, Submit votes by 9 pm on 10/9 Poll comes out on 10/25, Submit votes by 9 pm on 10/23 Final poll comes out on 11/8, Submit votes by 9 pm on 11/6 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10, ie. 1st place receives 10 points and so forth. The team with the most points will be ranked #1. 1st places votes will be used to break a tie for 1st place. Ties for other positions will not be broken. If your vote comes after 9:00 pm on the due-dates listed above it will not be used for that weeks poll. Please help me with this! I want everyones vote to count, but I am compiling this myself. My wife might help me if I take her out to dinner enough. Please do not send in votes late! I will e-mail the polls to NCPrepTrack and NorthCarolinaIHigh.
